The Indian cricket team is all set to play additional pink-ball matches during its upcoming tour of Australia with a newly scheduled two-day match against the Prime Minister's XI in Canberra. The match will be played at Manuka Oval on the intervening night of November 30 and December 1, offering a valuable warm-up ahead of the second Test of the Bordergasmar series in Adelaide.

This extra match is scheduled between the first and second Tests, and will be played as a day-night match. The practice will be crucial for India, as the second Test in Adelaide will also be a day-night affair, played in similar conditions. The environment of the pink ball and under lights can be tough and this match is expected to help India adapt better.

India and Australia last met in a pink-ball Test during the 2020 series, where Australia won by eight wickets in Adelaide. This Test in Adelaide will be only the second time that these two teams will play in day and night conditions.

The Bordergaskar Trophy series, which will be played over five Tests for the first time in 30 years, is particularly important as both teams look to make the finals of the ICC World Test Championship next year. India are currently leading the World Test Championship rankings while Australia are second.

Australia will be looking to defend their title after winning the World Test Championship last year by defeating India in the final. With the next edition to be held at Lord's in 2025, both teams are determined to secure their place in the finals through this crucial series.
